Wherever there’s trauma, you feel stuck in the past. Something terrible happened and you can’t seem to move forward from it no matter how much time has gone by. Maybe you’ve found yourself saying, “I should have been over this by now” or “I can’t believe I’m still feeling this way.”

There are so many reasons our past can have a hold on us.

Maybe it was a bad childhood.

Or a relationship where cheating or abuse occurred.

It could be a single act of violence.

A tragic loss you can’t seem to move through.

A disturbing incident or incidents at work or in the line of duty.

Whatever happened, it marked you in some permanent way that you have trouble talking or even thinking about. You just know you’ve never been the same.

You’re avoiding things or not able to do things you used to be able to do perfectly well with no problem.

Your reactions to certain situations, environments, and people seem over the top.

Wherever there’s trauma, anxiety and depression are usually ever present as well. You’re either feeling too much or not feeling anything at all. In order to cope, you’ve resorted to unhealthy behaviors that, although they help in the short-term, are not doing you any favors in the long-term.

You’re here because you’re tired of feeling the way that you do and you’re ready to move forward and claim your best life. You want to have the life you see others having. You want to feel “normal”. In fact, you want to feel better than normal! Maybe you’ve never believed you could have what you want, but it’s time to try something different.

I’m here to help.

Hi. I’m Lalo. I’m a body-based psychotherapist that specializes in supporting folks overcome the havoc trauma has wreaked on your life. I believe that our trauma stories live in our bodies and that we are constantly receiving smoke signals of distress such as difficulty relaxing, trouble sleeping, chronic tension, and persistent discomforts (such as stomach aches and headaches). I am passionate about helping you decode those messages and learn to use your body as a portal for transformation and ultimately heal from trauma.
